Though a lack of future altercations would certainly make my life easier, I'm not asking it of you. I would have done the same thing, under similar circumstances.
If you're implying that you somehow feel responsible for me or my actions, don't. I belong to you about as much as I belong to my sire's bloodline. Which is to say, purely by accident and to occasional intense frustration.
Then it probably would have been wisest not to get involved in the first place. When you take action on a polarising issue, people are going to react.
That said, I have little investment in the rest of this fiasco, as you put it. I don't particularly care to take either side. All I care about is your well-being.
